Port Blair, the capital city of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, serves as the entry point for visiting the Indian union territory in the Bay of Bengal. It is connected with the mainland via both- sea and air. From mainland India, you can reach Port Blair’s Veer Savarkar International Airport by air in just two-three hours. From Haddo Wharf in Port Blair, it takes three to four days by sea to reach Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, or Chennai. Port Blair is famous for various museums, monuments of historical importance, as well as small islands such as Corbyn’s Cove, Ross Island, Wandoor, Viper Island, etc. These were home to British colonists. While vacationing in the Andaman Islands, it is a great place to spend a couple of days.
